In musicology, "tutti" means..."everybody plays!"
This is the spirit in which Camarata produced this album.
The fact that his nickname of long standing is "Tutti" adds fillip to the title.
The idea for "TUTTI'S TRUMPETS" was born many years ago when Camarata blew trumpet for Jimmy Dorsey.
In later years, as he went on to orchestrating, arranging, composing and conducting, he always held on to the idea and hoped someday to make suck an album.
However, it was not until the early hours of April 27, 1957, when the first recording session was held, that it first became a reality.
Tutti Camarata did the arranging for all of the numbers, which include four of his own original compositons and six all-time standards.
For his "trumpets", Tuttis called upon six of the top trumpet men in the country...Pete Candoli, Conrad Gozzo, Mannie Klein, Joe Triscari, 'Shorty' Sherock, and Uan Rasey.
